On 31th of May I was honored to expect a call from Ritchie Blackmore for an interview for Czech magazine Rock&All. He was actually the first rock star to give me an autograph 15 years ago on Wenceslas Square in the heart of Prague. There are plenty of topics to discuss from Rainbow reunion, Blackmore’s Night Sued By Record Label Over Alleged Failure To Promote new album and many more.
If you would like to participate and add a question on Ritchie, do so in a comment. Thanx

I would love to know what his favourite German meal is and how he's staying in such good phyiscal shape. Does he do sports on a regular basis? I really would love to know that! Would be nice if you could ask him that, thank you very much! :)
ReplyDeleteHey
DeleteHe is still into sports, especially football, but loves to enjoy a drink. On a question to compare Czech and German beers: "I love Pilsner Urquell, but there are plenty of great German beers. I definitelly don't like any American beers. Budweiser is far too distant from the original. Luckily there are number of shops I can buy bottled beer. Local bars only serve american beer on tap and play sports or music on their flat screen TVs. I can only dream about a tavern with middle age music...
I would like to know if he had to practice guitar in a certain way to get back to the old way of playing for Rainbow shows...
ReplyDeletePlaying guitar it's like breathing for me. I always have one in my hands. However it's rather acoustic. Therefore I have to refresh playing an electric guitar and I guess the biggest challenge will be tapping. Mainly, as the finger input is different and same goes to playing with a pick, which I haven't done in years.
DeleteIs there any possibility to hear songs Carry On Jon and Darker Shade Of Black on Rainbow shows&
ReplyDeleteHi I have a technical question about his guitar sound with Deep Purple and Rainbow, the long sustain notes requiry a special set up from his guitar so how did he managed to get that sound. He must have had a high action on his Strat's because the notes never stop not, even when he is bending them. So what was his guitar set up. Also I have seen pictures were he plays in Deep Purple in 1974 with a Strat equipped with 2 Filtertron pick-up wich normaly are in Grestch guitars, there is even a bootleg from that concert Manchester 1974.. THose are mine questions for the master Smile
ReplyDelete“There is no magic. I believe it's rather in the head, than in the gear. Ok, maybe a bit of overdrive. Therefore I hate today's tendencies to hide behind over-the-top production and gear. Hendrix sounded better than all of us combined and didn’t need a bloody overdrive. He only believed in himself and his guitar."
Delete"We haven't seen each other in years and it's mainly because of the distance between us. Ian Gillan lives, for what I know in Portugal Glenn Hughes is in LA and David Coverdale might be in Nevada. We don't see each other but we stayed friends over the years."
